I cannot find any logs. Not in "C:\Users\Torstein\Documents\Guild Wars" nor "C:\Program Files\Guild Wars"

Could you please point out where they are supposed to be? A search through the disk did not find any files named "arenanet".

I want to help out, and get this <ugly word> banned

We are not yet able to verify this information. If you have been crashed, go into your Guild Wars folder, make a copy of the ArenaNet.Log file, and send to [email protected]. Do it now -- this is very important. For one thing, it will give us helpful information. For another, it will help establish if these crashes are happening at all, whether they're coincidental, and whether they're being externally caused. Please know that I do not mean to insult anyone with expressing any doubts about the comments here. But sometimes, these reports are based on urban legend and a sort of hysteria that results from someone relaying false information which then gets passed along like "It wasn't me, but a guild member..." or "I was online and heard someone else say..." I am not denying this may be an issue; I cannot confirm yet that it is or is not an issue. Please don't think we are trying any sort of cover-up, but until we have the logs, we can't prove (or hopefully disprove) the nature of these incidents, so please do help us out with your log.
Wow, for once I agree with ANet's position :P
This isn't something ANet can do much about (except by fixing the hack, maybe?) until they get reports

Don't wish to keep the topic afloat any longer than necesarry, but seriously...I have to question the sanity and intelligence of people when I get whispers like the following...

"oi u that dylan dude? that has probs cause of the hacker dude?"

*shakes head sadly*

Seriously, if anybody got that from this thread they need help. Anyways, let's hope the matter has been dealt with in the update and we lose the idiots spoiling our game.

We are actively working on resolving this issue and others that we have been informed about. I'd like to say that someone posting a virtual "How to exploit" tutorial on a fan forum -- as has been done recently -- is bad on many levels: It's potentially harmful to players, it can negatively impact the company and drain our resources, it's against the User Agreement, and I'm pretty sure it's also against a couple of random laws here and there.

However, in all honesty, it is our responsibility to close exploits, and you can be sure that we will do so, as quickly and as thoroughly as we are able.

Some exploits are harmless; a few might not be immediately closeable. We may not invest the time and effort in dealing with a harmless exploit. But the ones that are potentially harmful will be closed, or will be focused upon until we develop a means to close them.

If you are wondering how to properly report an exploit, here are steps you can use:
  • Please gather all the details you can about the exploit and send an email to [email protected].
  • Use "Exploit" in the title. Something more informative, such as "Exploit with Mallyx" or "Exploit involving Party Crashes" is helpful, but not necessary.
  • If you know about the steps needed to use the exploit or reproduce the glitch, then do share those with us. It's helpful to know there is an exploit; it's golden to know there's an exploit and to also be told how it's being done.
  • Don't test exploits; don't go with someone to see it being done; don't tell others how to do it.
  • If you know of someone using an exploit, you can report that person via the same email address. No one will be banned based solely on a report, to prevent griefing and to assure maximum respect for each player. However, with a character name on report we can investigate to see if that person is responsible for the development, use, or distribution of the exploit.
We're very sorry for any exploit that appears in our game, and we have been discussing as recently as today our processes for sharing the information internally and working to make updates that close the exploit as quickly and painlessly as possible. We're really grateful for your help in this matter, if you're able to provide us information, and for your patience, if you have been affected.

Thanks.
